Masterclass topics include repertoire study, specific technical issues, chamber music rehearsal techniques, historical significance of selected composers and repertoire, and coping methods for performance nerves.

An unusual component to the Performance Intensive is the innovative dedication to the young musician’s need to “practice” performing. Students will have numerous opportunities to perform (often multiple times a day), in unique venues throughout the town of Oyster Bay.

Christ Church location for Performance Intensive

Performance Intensive classes take place at Christ Church at 61 East Main Street and at First Presbyterian Church across the street, in Oyster Bay, New York. Meals and Afternoon Concerts take place throughout downtown Oyster Bay and within walking distance from the Christ Church campus.

Oyster Bay Music Festival

Last summer thirty-five talented young musicians ages 11-24 from all over Long Island and New York State gathered here in Oyster Bay to train and perform in engaging, intimate concerts, spreading the excitement of live classical music performance and practicing their craft along the way.

Join us this summer, July 23-30, for another exciting musical adventure! Visit our Application page for 2017 audition information.
